Angela is a Brisbane based professional violinist and strings teacher, who studied at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith Universtiy. She now shares her passion for music with the students at her growing private studio in North Lakes, where she has taught students from as young as four years, to the young at heart in their sixties. Angela is also responsible for the strings programs at two schools in her local area, and regularly offers her teaching abilities on a casual basis to youth music workshops.
The idea to set up social music classes came from a desire to break away from traditional lesson constructs, and in so doing develop new opportunities for adults to enhance their lives through music. Just like a yoga, cooking, or art class, like-minded adults can now come together and enjoy learning music in a relaxed, social context, and at a much more affordable price point than traditional private lessons.
Angela is also an accomplished orchestral performer, having developed her orchestral skills under the guidance of celebrated conductors such as John Curro (Queensland Youth Symphony), Warwick Potter (University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra), Johannes Fritzsch (Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra), and Chris van Tuinen and Patrick Miller (Australian International Opera Company). Through these and various community orchestras, Angela has participated in numerous concerts, music camps, and tours over the past twelve years. This has included performances in the world-renowned Sydney Opera House and Brisbane’s foremost classical music venue, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, as well as tours to China with the Australian International Opera Company.
Angela is available for performance in various contexts, including orchestral and wedding or corporate gigs. To book Angela for performance simply head to the Contact page of this website and call, e-mail, or use the ‘Get in Touch’ form.
